No.1 Aussie Brekky Smashed Avo Toast



My favourite breakfast to make on a weekend is this delicious smashed avo on toast and now that I'm living in New York it's great to make a little piece of home on those days that I'm feeling a little homesick.

The smashed avo toast is really simple to make, scrumptious to eat and forgiving on the waist.

Ingredients:
wholemeal, rye or soy and linseed bread
1-2 avocados (smashed)
red onion (diced)
feta cheese (crumbled)
chili flakes
juice of 1-2 fresh limes
(number of ingredients vary depending on how many people you are making it for, above is suitable for 2 people)

Method:
Toast bread and in the meantime dice up your red onion and smash your avo. Once the bread is toasted, apply your smashed avo, diced red onion, crumble the feta cheese on top and sprinkle chili flakes to your desired liking. Squeeze the lemon juice all over the top and bon appetit!

*note if you are not a fan of hot food do not be scared off by the chili flakes as they provide a nice subtle kick! Just be gentle handed when sprinkling them on.
